National Day of Truth and Reconciliation

On lookers watching the Haisla Dancers

On Thursday, September 30th, Canada had it's first Truth and Reconciliation stat holiday. A lot of communities around Canada held gatherings that brought together indigenous and non-indigenous people in the name of reconciliation to start the healing process of the horrible events that took place in Canada's past. This year, the event focused heavily on the mass graves that have been found in numerous residential school sites. We had a chance to document the public even that took place in Kitimat. A special thank you to the organizers that put the event on. Here are some of the photos we were able to take at the event.
